Xta dp448 pdf

Hi, My XTA decided to die on me 15 minutes into a night last friday. I was plugging the wireless wisp into the back when the power went off to the unit. I straight away made sure the IEC lead was firmly seated into the unit and that the plug was in properly in the distro in the rack. They were both fine but the unit switched itself on then off another couple of times before turning on again and staying on.

Thing is the 4 input signal clip lights were on and the processor was not letting any audio pass through to the x over section. I then swithched it off then on again, clearing the clip lights from the input signals vu meters and allowing distorted sound through to only a couple of the output channels. At this point the unit was unplugged and we copyed all the setting across to a we had spare so the night could go on. Anyone had any failures like this one?

This is going to now be the second time i'm having to send the unit back to XTA and was hoping it would be a problem they know about so i don't have to pay for the repair. Bit rubbish really considering its supposed to be their flagship x-over! If i were to end up switching x-overs does anyone have any suggestions as to where to go to next? I love the but i really can't be having problems like this just before the summer season. Speak to Gareth Green Gareth xta.

BrianHad identical problems with a BSS FDS and we found out how to avoid itLike most experienced techies I have always left control gear permanently switched on to avoid problems with switches arcing or going faulty so as soon as you plug in your 13A plug or ceeform connector all control gear is automatically onWith our BSS the output LED ladders shot to the top and stayed there and the unit would not become "live" and hence no sound.

But, if you connected the BSS to a normal switched 13A socket and switched it on then this problem never occurs and the unit powers up and works perfectlyI have always put it down to it only being happy if the live only is interrupted when switching it on whereas if the unit is left on and then plugged in then the live and neutral are connected at the same time and the BSS does not like thisWe have other BSS FDS units which behave normally no matter how you plug them in or switch them onIt is just this one unit that shows up this problem for some reason--Cheers--John.

They had the same thing happen and sent it back to XTA who did a mod and it's now fixed If your thinking of changing x-overs bry, have a look at the Ashley Protea units. Ive heard good things about them, in particular the controll software. Features Four channels of amplification, processing and real time monitoring at 96k.
