Windows 7 home premium 64-bit 1-pack for system builders

In my opinion, Windows 7 far surpasses the end-user quality of use, functionality, ergonomics, and performance that of Windows XP. I do not believe Vista is even worth mentioning. The same applies for Windows XP. Many will argue that Windows 7 is a memory hog.

That is true, and that is a good thing - RAM is faster than a hard drive, and by todays standards, your computer should have plenty of RAM. The more the merrier, but whatever amount of RAM you have - Windows 7 will utilize it in the best ways possible to give you the best performance from your system.

Pros: Windows 7 works great. Make sure you buy the 64 bit version if you ever want to see more than 4G of RAM. Buy OEM, not the retail version. Unless you feel you have too much money. Overall Review: I wish it allowed you to backup to another hard-drive on your network and allowed for remote desktop, but those are not features of Home Premium.

Pros: Beats the socks off Vista. Slick interface. FAST install. Not too shabby. Found all hardware, setup the local network, etc. Cons: Before But not anymore Takes some getting used too since MS Oh well Pros: works great right out of the box. Great price. You get zero eggs for failing at comprehension. OEM means 1 system and no MS tech support no loss there.

You can install it on one system as many times as you want. If you change the motherboard to a different model of board, its no longer considered the same system, but you can change out any other parts. You can reformat and reinstall on that system as many times as your heart desires.

Pros: It's windows, which I like. Pretty fast although I have a really fast computer and it does what it needs too, without too many extra stuff. I really like to buy windows separately and not preinstalled because that means that there is no annoying trial software. Cons: There was some Big Brother-like software with windows that prevented me from moving around anything in Program Files, Windows, etc.

However, Windows had created some "Trusted Installer" that prevented me from doing that. It effectively was a "super account" that could not be accessed by the user that owned all of the files and blocked access to them. I thought I would have to manually take over every single file, but fortunately there was a program online that could do it for me TakeOwnership.

Still, it was really annoying. Pros: Works great Does what I need it to do. Great price as well. Cons: Games were not installed by default. Had to add them via 'Add Windows Components'. Minor nag. Gotta have my Mah-johng Titans! However, I have no regrets whatsoever after installing. Everything just I am still learning the little nuances between 7 and XP but so far I have yet to run into any major issue. Overall Review: Just a note to Newegg.

I ordered a motherboard that shipped from California and got to my doorstep in 2 days flat. Makes no sense. Cons: Underwhelmed by XpMode. Lots of apps that worked fine with Xp don't work with W7, or work poorly.

My experience, at least so far, is that it is preferred to dual-boot to WinXp rather than use XpMode. I stopped playing with Windows while they sorted out the Vista mess.
